Assistance, whether money or case management for housing/rental needs, is available across Ascension Parish.
HUD Section 8 rent vouchers: The two regional agencies include Ascension Parish (305 Chetimatches St., Donaldsonville Louisiana, dial (225) 344-7187) as well as City of Plaquemine Housing (address is 23460 Railroad Ave, Plaquemine, LA 70764, phone (225) 687-1942). Both are PHA (public housing authorities).
They administer the tenant-based voucher program, which pays a portion of rent for income based housing.
