Food pantries in Beaufort County.
Food Assistance and Food Banks
In general, the Beaufort County food pantries will provide assistance to anyone in need. However this will of course depend on whether the non-profit has the resources available. Many of the food banks have a limited amount of groceries to pass out or free meals to serve, so in those cases referrals are given instead.
Any type of emergency aid is combined with linkage to long term support. Thousands of low income Beaufort County families receive help from SNAP food stamps each month or other government programs.
There are also more focused services in the county, such as Meals on Wheels for the seniors or disabled as well as baby formula, diapers, and snacks for students out of school. It is recommended to call a pantry first for their hours and distribution schedule. Many of the pantries in Beaufort also need volunteers and donations so they can feed even more hungry people.
