Housing and Rental Assistance
Low income and struggling tenants in Vermilion County can get emergency help for paying housing expenses, including back rent, moving costs (security deposits or storage) and more.
The goal of the charities, non-profits, and government back organizations that offer rental assistance or funds to pay utilities, housing, etc. have a goal of stopping homelessness.
Free Legal Services

They oversee the regional homeless prevention and rapid rehousing program. This combines everything from ESG grants from HUD for rent or utility bills to moving cost help, security deposit assistance and more.
Staff also link families to other charities, churches, loans, or non-profits for everything from job programs to credit counseling and more…in addition to rent assistance.
