Food Assistance and Food Banks
There are dozens of food pantries located in the Lenawee and Monroe County region. The non-profit agencies offer both short term, emergency support as well as information on long term assistance, such as SNAP food stamps or other government aid.
Find a list of free food pantries near you, churches, soup kitchens, and food banks below that can provide assistance. There is also a referral number at the bottom of the page for more referrals.
Food Assistance and Food Banks
Not all residents will live near a food bank or can't get transportation to one. In these cases, referrals may be given to one that is more convenient. Also, there are some home delivery, or Meals on Wheels services in Lenawee County as well as Monroe. The goal of each one of these groups is to not turn anyone away.
They want to feed the hungry in the area, and even provide other seasonal support. To this end, free Christmas meals may be served, or some food pantries offer personal hygiene items (soap, detergent, feminine products, etc.), diapers, and goods such as formula. Many also pass out hygiene items, like razors or certain nutritional supplements for kids or seniors.

They also have Thanksgiving and Christmas meals, financial aid for bills, case management, shelter, and more. Easter baskets may be passed out too.
