The needy, low income, and really anyone that is struggling can get help from a food pantry in the greater Rockland County New York area. While resources are limited and they rely on donations, the locations will do their best to not turn anyone away. Many of the food banks are run by local churches and other charity organizations.
Some of what you may find at a Rockland center includes the following. Most locations will offer non-perishable canned food items. Centers may have more seasonal items as well, such as Christmas or Thanksgiving meals. Less common would be fresh fruits, vegetables, or baby formula. Some pantries may provide hot meals, home delivered food to the elderly, and other items such as clothing or household goods.
