United Way Silicon Valley – While it does not provide financial assistance, they offer referrals and advice. Call 408-345-4300. The programs they focus on can offer financial resources and support for low income people who need temporary assistance such as a homeless shelter, affordable housing, a HUD voucher or counseling.

They focus on people who need help when faced with loss of employment, serious illness, violence, medical emergency, substance abuse, financial hardship, or grief.
