Program Overview
Santa Clara County Love Inc. programs. One of the leading charities in the Santa Clara County region is Love Inc. The organization works with local churches to offer assistance to needy individuals.
The support provided is usually in the form of basic needs, such as food, clothing, minor yard work for seniors, and similar. However, there may be some other more extensive programs available, such as help with car repairs for work related reasons.
All of the resources are limited and really provided by volunteers in the community. Anyone seeking help will need to go through their Clearinghouse, or referral line. There will be an extensive application process, and the support provided by Love and its partners is meant to be a hand up, and not a hand out.
For those that don’t qualify, or if your need is more extensive, then Love may provide referrals to other Santa Clara based non-profits or charities. In some cases the charity may even refer people to state of California or federal government benefits, such as Cal Fresh. Some of the assistance programs and services provided include the following.
As noted, Love Inc. will refer qualified clients to these resources which operate in the region. Seniors can get help or rides for grocery shopping. They may also have information on Meals on Wheels services in Santa Clara. There may also be rides for doctor's appointments. Home services for the elderly and disabled may be yard work or light housekeeping duties on a one-time or short term basis.

Additional home programs include minor home repair such as electrical, plumbing, and painting or help with packing or moving.
Some holiday support may be available, mostly for free Thanksgiving or Christmas meals. Churches in Santa Clara may offer children small holiday gifts, based on donation levels. Love focuses on self-sufficiency as well. One key service is financial literacy and budget mentoring . This helps lower income people address long term financial issues.
