Local families and individuals that are struggling with their rent, facing an eviction, or who are currently homeless or who are in danger of becoming homeless can apply for help. Each year several non-profits and charities receive federal government grants , and those funds are given to income qualified Santa Rosa and Escambia County Florida residents.
The program offers struggling people with rental assistance, case management, budgeting skills, funds for light bills and utility deposits. There may also be grants for paying moving costs and certain motel vouchers. Please note that the program does not assist homeowners with making their mortgage or paying for foreclosure costs or prevention services.

If you live in Escambia County, those residents, including those who reside in Century, can take part in a telephone prescreening by calling Catholic Charities. The funding for the assistance program, provided through the Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-housing Program, which is part of an ongoing federal government grant program.
The aim is to provide financial assistance and services to prevent families and individuals from becoming homeless. Or if someone is currently homeless, they try to rapidly re-house those persons. Financial assistance in Santa Rosa: Santa Rosa Community Services Department receives funding from the federal government, and the source of this money is known as the Community Services Block Grant (CSBG).
The non-profit has two main goals as listed below. Assist low-income people and families, especially vulnerable populations, by providing emergency services, strengthening their family and supportive systems, and encouraging independent living.
The second goal is fairly similar, in that the agency will help low-income people become self-sufficient through economic asset enhancement, employment, job training, and similar programs.
Programs and resources will help people move from a so called crisis situation to self-sufficiency. Some of what can be provided includes Education, Employment, Individual Development Account Program (IDA), and Home Buying Assistance. Early Head Start and the similarly named Head Start program provide developmental services that are fully comprehensive.
These are offered for children who are five years of age or younger. Head Start can provide and promote school readiness and get a child ready for school. This occurs by enhancing the social development of children and their parents by provision of educational, health, and nutritional services.

Crisis Assistance may be able to help eligible low income households who are in immediate danger of losing access to needed home energy due to a disconnection.

assistance from Community Action Program Committee Catholic Charities Emergency Assistance Program is a voluntary service that may be able to address a crisis and help people resolve emergency financial needs they may have.
The emergency needs to be life-threatening or extreme emergency, and it is not an ongoing financial assistance program. While funding is very limited, Catholic Charities of Santa Rosa will attempt to assist all applicants by at minimum providing information and referral to other resources or financial counseling as appropriate.
When funding permits, and an applicant meets criteria, Catholic Charities Emergency Financial Assistance program may be able to assist with past due utilities or cooling bills on a case-by case basis.

– Offers referrals and can help people apply for public aid and government assistance. This includes food stamp applications and WIC program. The center can provide referrals for free legal services, food pantries, medical services and clinics, housing, utilities, SSI and disability applications. Other resources offered are cell phone applications assistance as well as emergency food supplies and meals for the homeless and people in need.
