The Montana Housing Division and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development partner together to offer the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program in Montana. Low income and families faced with poverty may qualify for rent assistance and other forms of help from this resource.

It works by putting a cap on how much of their income that families need to pay towards housing costs. While there is a waiting list in place for the program, the state of Montana and the federal government will enroll as many qualified families as possible.
